I Miss the Sun

on November 12, 2013

With Daylight Savings Time ended I now leave work in the dark.  I miss the sun.  I know it is all a perception thing but with the sun setting so early I feel like it is much later.  Unfortunately, this feeling makes me less motivated.

Last year I was working a 6am to 2:30pm shift so didn’t notice the lack of sun. I actually kind of liked it because it was lighter when I drove to work and it was darker when I started heading to bed.  I felt like a normal person (not possible).  See it is all perception.

I kind of miss that shift.  I don’t mind waking up early and I had about an hour all to myself before my coworkers arrived.  It is amazing how much you can get done when no one else is around.  It was also really nice to get out of work and still have the whole afternoon and evening to do things.  The 3rd perk was little traffic.  Since I worked an off shift the normal rush hour traffic didn’t affect me.  I guess the hospitality industry really is for me crazy hours and all.

On the bright side (haha, totally unintentional pun), my vacation to the Keys is in 19 days!!  I will get all of the sun I crave Hot smile

Belle of the Library

... the musings of a BARELY thirty-something, married, Southern librarian with a wildly inappropriate sense of humor, an inability to gauge most emotional cues, a dear best friend since ninth grade, and a stubborn, mouthy, redheaded country boy to accompany her through life.
